The group recently announced it will perform a 90-minute special for PBS, which will debut July 31, and then air on various PBS affiliates across the country throughout August. Violent videogames can increase aggression and hostility in some players but they can also benefit others by honing their visual/spatial skills and improving social networking ability, scientists said.

"Violent video games are like peanut butter," said Christopher J. Ferguson, of Texas A&M International University. "They are harmless for the vast majority of kids but are harmful to a small minority with pre-existing personality or mental health problems."

This clip is from the excellent documentary The Hax Life, which takes a look at some pro gamers competing in the Korean capital, Seoul. It's at times touching, at times frightening, and at others, just mind-bending.

Watch this video, then try and move your hands and fingers that fast doing anything, let alone complex routines in a particular video game.

Electronic Arts has sold its 15 percent stake in Ubisoft Entertainment SA. According to two people "close to the deal" the value of the these shares is about $122 million (94 million euros). According to Bloomberg data, EA was Ubisoft's largest shareholder taking on 19.9 percent in 2005 for 68.9 million euros which Ubisoft considered "hostile". According to Conor O’Shea, an analyst at Kepler Capital Markets in Paris, Activision may be interested in purchasing the shares now that EA is out of the picture.

Ubisoft was founded by the five Guillemot brothers, whose holding company Guillemot Brothers SA holds 7.2 percent of the company, according to Bloomberg data. Yves Guillemot is the current chief executive officer. Ubisoft shares rose 1.7 percent to 7.09 euros at the close of Paris trading.

Electronic Arts put up all its Ubisoft shares for sale, Ubisoft said in an e-mailed statement today, without giving further details. While Ubisoft’s relationship with Electronic Arts has been positive, “we feel that this transaction is in Ubisoft’s best interest,” it said.

Eager to become the talk of every music fans' Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, Axl Rose has just issued his most insane lawsuit yet, suing "Guitar Hero" makers Activision for $20 million for featuring Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" in "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." Axl initially signed off on "Jungle" being used in the game, but on one condition: Do not put any music by Velvet Revolver, which boasts guitarist Slash (Rose's former bandmate and mortal enemy) in the game. Well, not only did "Guitar Hero III" offer a bunch of Velvet Revolver songs, they crowned Slash the game's spokesperson, featured him on the game's cover and made him a playable avatar. Cue Axl's lawsuit.

"[Activision] began spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III but also promote the game by emphasizing and reinforcing an association between Slash and Guns N' Roses and the band's song 'Welcome to the Jungle,' " Rose's lawyer Skip Miller writes in the $20 million suit. Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine" featured in "Guitar Hero II," and "Shackler's Revenge" from Axl's long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" actually debuted as a game-ending challenge in "Rock Band 2," so Rose isn't opposed to the use of his songs in music video games. This comes down to, once again, Rose's undying hatred of Slash.
